This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

Information

Vernon Hills Sports Club is excited to offer tackle football for boys and girls in grades 2nd to 8th. 

2024 TACKLE  FOOTBALL SEASON (July - October/November)

  • July 21:  Equipment Pickup 

  • July 22-26:  Preseason Conditioning and Assessment:  July 22-26

  • July 29:  Full Equipment Team Practices Begin - 5 days a week

  • August 17 - Preseason Scrimmage TBD

  • Starting August 19 - Down to 4 practices  a week 

    • (Film/Meeting on Monday + 3 practices)

  • Last weekend of October to Second weekend in November:  Playoffs

TACKLE  FOOTBALL GRADE LEVELS (2nd-8th)

  • Tackle football is open to all boys and girls from Grade 2 - 8.

 

TACKLE FOOTBALL PRACTICES

Practices are held at the Grass football fields 8 and 9 at the VH Athletic Complex on Nike Parkway.  The season will begin with 5 practices per week, and then drop down to 4 team events per week leading into Game week 1.

FOOTBALL GAMES

Home games will be played on Sundays at VHHS.   Away games could be played on Saturday OR Sunday, depending on the host site schedule.  Game schedules are released 2-4 weeks at a time to ensure parity of competition.  

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Players will need to provide their own practice pants,  two mouth guards, cleats, and a water bottle.   The Sports Club will provide Helmet, Shoulder Pads, Game Pants/Jersey, and a practice jersey.

COACHES

Volunteer Head coaches and Assistant Coaches are always needed.  Background checks are done for all assigned coaches.  Tackle Coaches will be required to complete USA Football Certification and PCA (Positive Coaches Alliance) Certification. For each team, our goal is to have one Head Coach and 3-5 Assistant Coaches per team.
