This registration session will allow you to complete contact information, sign up for participation, and submit payment.

Please read through each page carefully to ensure that all information is provided accurately.

Information

Vernon Hills Sports Club is excited to offer another season of flag  programs for boys and girls ranging in age from K to 8th grade. 

Season Details

Flag Football is a co-ed program and while we have had lots of success with having girls and boys playing flag together, we are hoping this will be the first year we will have enough girls to create a girls only team!

  • Evaluation Date:  Saturday, August 3 
  • Practices begin the week of August 19 with two practices per week
  • The week of September 9, practices reduce to one day per week with the option of a second practice.
    • All practice schedules will be determined by Head Coach
  • Games begin on Sunday, September 8
  • Playoffs will begin Friday, October 25 and Championship games will be played Sunday, October 27.
  • Player fee: $250

FLAG FOOTBALL GRADE LEVELS (K-8)

  • It is open to all male and female athletes.
  • The breakdown of grade level teams are below. 
    • K - 1
    • 2
    • 3
    • 4
    • 5
    • 6
    • 7 - 8

FLAG FOOTBALL PRACTICES

Practices are held at the VH Athletic Complex on Nike Parkway.  The season will begin with 2 practices a week, once games begin teams may drop to 1 practice a week with an optional 2nd practice.

FLAG FOOTBALL GAMES

Games will be played on Sundays in Vernon Hills (home) and in surrounding communities (away).  Home games are played at VHAC Fields 8 and 9, and at the Vernon Hills High School Stadium Field. Away games will be played against surrounding communities at Skokie Playfields in Winnetka, Glenbrook North High School, and New Trier High School. There are approximately 7 games and playoffs where all teams participate.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Players will need a mouth guard, running shoes or cleats, and a water bottle.  A jersey and flags will be provided by VH Sports Club.

COACHES

Volunteer Head coaches and Assistant Coaches are always needed.  Background checks are done for all assigned coaches.  Our goal is to support each team with one Head Coach, and at least one Assistant Coach per team.  If interested in coaching, please email football@vhsportsclub.org.
